The leaf petioles and tender new growth and tubers used as food. Tuberous rhizomes and with the gigantic, beautiful leaves are on long petioles. Large rhizomes flower which is white in color and turns yellow as it matures. Evergreen.

Cultivation is similar to that of the Colocasias and are fairly easy to grow.� Lots of watering required to get the foliage to grow bigger. Prefers humus rich compost and has to be� well drained if grown in colder climates. Shade to partial shade loving.
