A very dwarf species having a single leaf with three ovate-rhomboid leaflets. The flowers are starry deep brownish red with yellow filaments arising from the middle. Cold hardy.

Mature flowering size rhizomes offered.

Excellent for woodland planting in temperate climates. Makes equally good pot plants. Grow in well drained mixture of garden soil rich in humus, sand in equal proportion. Keep moist during winter.
