A cold hardy banana that has been cultivated in the Himalayas at over 2000m. It can resist winter frost and occasional snowfall. Young leaves have maroon variegations on the surface which turns green on maturity. The new leaves are also characterized by maroon blotches on the underside of the leaves. Cold hardy. Musa prefer rich organic compost. They do best well when planted outdoors in the tropics under full sunlight. Once established they do well with dilute fertilizing. Kindly note that the vareigation can vary a lot from one plant to another.
